Alirajpur district was carved out from Jhabua district on 17th May 2008. It is located in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, near the borders of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The district features a predominantly hilly terrain, contributing to its rich natural landscape.
A large portion of the population belongs to tribal communities, most of whom live in small villages surrounding the town of Alirajpur. However, the urban population primarily consists of non-tribal (general) communities.
